Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Risk Assessments: Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and business plans to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and corporations.
- Prepare Credit Memos: Draft detailed credit reports and recommendations for approval or denial, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policies.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Regularly review existing accounts to identify early warning signs of default and recommend proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, economic indicators, and competitor activities to provide context for credit decisions.
- Collaborate with Lenders: Work closely with relationship managers to provide expert analysis that supports loan origination and renewal decisions.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all credit files meet regulatory standards and internal governance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or risk management is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and credit analysis software (e.g., Moody’s Analytics, FICO) is essential.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
