Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to evaluate borrower risk and creditworthiness.
- Prepare and present comprehensive credit memos and recommendations to the underwriting committee.
- Monitor existing accounts to identify early signs of financial distress or delinquency.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local banking regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with the lending team to structure deals that balance risk and profitability.
- Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends and economic indicators affecting credit risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial risk assessment.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of loan underwriting principles and regulatory compliance (e.g., CRA, Fair Lending).
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
