Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate income tax returns in strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial documentation and explain tax-related inquiries.
- Manage payroll tax filings, including 941, state quarterly reports, and W-2 processing.
- Assist senior associates with year-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
- Stay updated on the latest tax laws, regulations, and software updates to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements and enhance client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation or public accounting (CPA or EA preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as ProSeries, Lacerte, or Drake.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines during tax season.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client meetings.
