Job Summary
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a compliance program designed to prevent illegal, unethical, or unauthorized activities. You will serve as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies and internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and audit the organization's activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop and update comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal investigations regarding potential violations of law, rules, regulations, or other standards.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related issues and regulatory changes.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and senior management.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to address complex regulatory issues.
- Identify areas of risk and recommend process improvements to mitigate those risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, auditing, or risk management role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, HIPAA, or general corporate compliance).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., CFE, CAMS, or similar) is a plus.
