Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze changes in local and federal regulations to ensure our practices remain compliant and up-to-date.
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures for the organization.
- Train staff on compliance standards, ethical practices, and reporting procedures to foster a culture of integrity.
- Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to governing bodies and internal stakeholders on a timely basis.
- Investigate and resolve compliance inquiries, ensuring thorough documentation of all findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a compliance, auditing, or regulatory role within the financial sector.
- Strong knowledge of Alaska state laws and federal banking/compliance regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex regulations to non-technical staff.
