Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Process payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and tax returns.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents.
- Collaborate with the management team to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies in financial data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation (for occasional office meetings).
