Responsibilities
- Core Accounting: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accurate processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements to ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Payroll Management: Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payroll for a small team of employees.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Invoicing: Generate and send professional invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Vendor Relations: Communicate effectively with vendors regarding billing inquiries and payment schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; prior experience with Sage or NetSuite is a plus.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and accounting software.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
