Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage the entire bookkeeping process for multiple clients, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Preparation Support: Gather necessary documentation and assist with the preparation of sales and use tax returns.
- General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger with daily transactions and journal entries.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their financial inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) required.
- Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Attributes: Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: CPA or EA certification is a plus but not required for immediate consideration.
