Role Overview
In this role, you will serve as the guardian of our clients' financial records. You will be responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, maintaining the general ledger, and producing financial reports that drive business decisions. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries and reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, issue payments, and collect receivables in a timely manner to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (Balance Sheets, Income Statements) for client review.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for small to medium-sized businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Tax Preparation Support: Gather necessary documents and assist accountants during tax season, ensuring 1099s and W-2s are filed correctly.
  • Software Management: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage) to manage client accounts and streamline financial workflows.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Software Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and discrepancies in financial data.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Certifications: Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable but not mandatory.
