Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims (CMS-1500) to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information to prevent claim denials and rejections.
- Communicate effectively with insurance payers and patients to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
- Reconcile daily transactions and maintain accurate billing records in our ERP system.
- Identify trends in claim denials and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
- Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.
