Responsibilities
- Process medical and dental claims accurately and efficiently using our billing software.
- Review patient insurance eligibility and verify coverage details.
- Analyze denied and rejected claims to determine root causes and resubmit appropriately.
- Manage accounts receivable, including sending statements and following up on outstanding balances.
- Update patient records and maintain compliance with state and federal billing regulations.
- Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to improve cash flow and reduce days in accounts receivable (DSO).
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
