Responsibilities
- Process and post patient invoices and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
- Review patient accounts for discrepancies and resolve billing errors or denials.
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers regarding outstanding balances and claim status.
- Maintain and update patient billing records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential).
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
