Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
- Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance carriers using CMS-1500 forms.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage patient accounts and post payments accurately to the general ledger.
- Assist patients with billing questions and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Reconcile daily deposits and bank statements.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations and coding updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and billing software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
