The Role:
As a Billing Specialist, you will be the gatekeeper of our revenue cycle, ensuring that every invoice is processed accurately and on time. You will work closely with our finance team to optimize billing processes and improve cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and post medical and financial invoices to ensure timely revenue collection.
- Review patient accounts and insurance claims for errors or missing information before submission.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and denied claims with payers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records in our internal database.
- Assist in the month-end closing process and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical or financial billing.
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Aetna) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of transactions efficiently.
