Responsibilities
- Review and process medical and commercial invoices with 100% accuracy to ensure timely posting.
- Manage the revenue cycle by verifying patient insurance eligibility, submitting claims, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, and underpayments efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders regarding billing inquiries and account status.
- Perform monthly audits of billing records to ensure compliance with industry standards (HIPAA) and internal policies.
- Utilize billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar) to generate reports and analyze financial data.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for all billing documentation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or accounts receivable.
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential) and EMR/Billing software systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
