Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate insurance claims for medical and commercial clients
- Manage patient account balances, resolve billing discrepancies, and follow up on overdue payments
- Utilize Epic and Medisoft systems to maintain updated billing records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze revenue cycle metrics
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimize billing workflows
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in medical or commercial billing
- Proficiency in billing software (Epic, Medisoft) and MS Office Suite
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Medical Billing and Coding (CBCS) certification
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and CPT/ICD-10 codes
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interactions
- Ability to work independently and meet monthly billing deadlines
