Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims for medical services using Epic EMR and Cerner systems
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient payment inquiries within SLAs
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations for AR and insurance follow-up
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and audit readiness for billing documentation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify coding accuracy and charge capture
- Generate monthly revenue reports for finance leadership
- Train staff on billing process updates and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and CMS-1500 forms
- Proficient with Epic EMR and electronic claims submission
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills with 98%+ billing accuracy track record
- Ability to prioritize high-volume tasks in deadline-driven environments
