Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical claims for accuracy and completeness before submission to insurance payers.
- Manage the revenue cycle process, including posting payments, adjustments, and analyzing denials.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and outstanding balances.
- Perform regular audits of billing records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and prepare monthly financial reports.
- Collaborate with the finance team to identify trends and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficient in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
