Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims with 99% accuracy using Epic and Medisoft systems
- Manage accounts receivable through detailed follow-up on outstanding balances
- Resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with insurance providers and patients
- Generate monthly financial reports and analyze denial trends for process improvement
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and ACA regulations
- Train staff on billing protocols and system updates
- Optimize billing workflows to reduce denial rates by 15% quarterly
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial insurance (BCBS, UnitedHealth)
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and CMS-1500 forms
- Proficiency in billing software (Epic, Medisoft) and Excel
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC-A credential preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to resolve complex billing disputes under pressure
- Excellent communication skills for patient/provider interactions
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Finance required
