Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and medical records for billing accuracy.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare) and follow up on status.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment issues efficiently.
- Monitor accounts receivable and identify outstanding balances requiring attention.
- Process adjustments, write-offs, and payments received.
- Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to reduce denial rates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Finance preferred.
- Previous experience in medical billing or a related healthcare finance role.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficient in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
