Job Overview
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will work closely with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing inquiries and maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness before payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update the accounts payable ledger and vendor database.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on AP activity and aging.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries.
- Perform general clerical duties as needed to support the finance department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
