Meridian Financial Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing team in the historic Inner Harbor of Baltimore. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, as well as local and state compliance reports.
- Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist the Finance Director with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain a clean and organized filing system for both physical and electronic documents.
- Support the external audit process by providing requested documentation and clarifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial teams.
- CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is a plus.
