Responsibilities
- Account Reconciliation: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- AP & AR Management: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payments, and collections, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, generate financial statements, and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Preparation Support: Gather necessary documentation and assist with the preparation of sales and income tax returns.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize advanced accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to maintain organized and efficient financial systems.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their financial inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience is required.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Pro and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies and maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local tax laws.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
