Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and credit control.
- Process invoices, expenses, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns to HMRC.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure all timesheets are reconciled.
- Reconcile bank statements to the nominal ledger and identify any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems (physical and digital).
- Prepare basic management accounts and financial reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws, specifically VAT and Corporation Tax basics.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts.
