Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive weekend bookkeeping services for 15-20 small business clients using QuickBooks Online
- Process bi-weekly payroll and manage tax filings for California-based businesses
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant accounts with 99% accuracy
- Generate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) and variance analyses
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and client invoicing workflows
- Implement inventory tracking systems for retail clients using Shopify integration
- Prepare quarterly sales tax filings and assist with annual tax document organization
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online/Xero
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, data validation)
- California payroll processing certification or equivalent experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance required (Bachelor's preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and California tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven reconciliation accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal weekend supervision
- Experience with Shopify, Square, or POS system integrations
