Your Role
As a Weekend Accountant, you will manage the closing of weekly financial cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will act as the guardian of our financial data, working autonomously yet collaboratively with our central finance team during off-hours.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations and reconcile credit card statements to ensure all transactions are accounted for accurately.
- Accounts Management: Process and post weekly accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze weekly financial reports, including variance analysis and cash flow summaries.
- Month-End Close: Assist in the closing of monthly and quarterly periods by preparing necessary journal entries and adjusting entries.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial records comply with federal and state regulations.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Provide support for audit requests and assist with general ledger maintenance during weekend shifts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Associate degree with relevant experience accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Availability: Must be available to work exclusively on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for the duration of the contract.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure high levels of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to management.
