As a Night Shift Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations. You will be responsible for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting during the hours when our systems are less busy, ensuring that our books are up-to-date and accurate by morning. Responsibilities
- Perform nightly financial reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledgers to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Process accounts payable and receivable invoices with a high degree of precision and adherence to payment schedules.
- Prepare nightly financial reports and summaries for the morning shift leadership team to facilitate decision-making.
- Review and audit expense reports submitted by remote staff to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the month-end close process by preparing necessary journal entries and documentation.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents and tax records.
- Respond to inquiries from internal departments regarding account balances and transaction statuses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables required).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in complex data sets.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently during the night shift.
- Professional communication skills to collaborate effectively with morning shift teams.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Associate (CPA-A) preferred but not mandatory.
