Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure account balances are correct and that all transactions have been recorded.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Payroll Processing: Support the payroll process by collecting time data, verifying hours, and ensuring accurate payroll calculations.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file state and federal tax documents, including sales tax returns and corporate income tax filings.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and errors in financial data.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism, ethical standards, and ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal and state tax laws and accounting regulations.
