Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile complex multi-currency accounts payable/receivable ledgers
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and HMRC compliance documentation
- Manage payroll processing and pension auto-enrollment schemes
- Generate month-end financial statements with variance analysis
- Oversee bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
- Implement and optimize Xero/QuickBooks workflows
- Liaise with auditors and tax authorities during compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' UK bookkeeping experience with practice/agency background
- Proven expertise in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage software
- ATT/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent certification
- Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and VLOOKUP mastery
- Deep understanding of UK tax regulations (PAYE, CIS, VAT)
- Exceptional attention to detail and deadline-driven work ethic
- Strong communication skills for client relationship management
