Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Oversee the VAT returns process, ensuring accurate filing and timely payment to HMRC.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all deadlines are met with high accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing requested documentation.
- Prepare management accounts and variance analysis reports to support senior management decision-making.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and processes.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar Accountant role within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50cloud or Xero (SAP knowledge is a plus).
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, VAT rules, and corporate governance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
