Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local individual and corporate income tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065) with high accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct research on current tax laws and regulations to ensure all filings are up-to-date and optimized for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial data, explain tax liabilities, and provide strategic planning advice.
- Assist with tax audits and correspondence with the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Utilize tax software (e.g., ProSeries, UltraTax) to process returns efficiently and manage client workflows.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to identify business development opportunities and improve service offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation required; Master’s degree (MAcc, MST) or CPA/EA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of professional experience in tax preparation and financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. tax codes and filing requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and tax preparation software (ProSeries, Drake, CCH IntelliTax).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
