Responsibilities
- Assist senior tax professionals in preparing and filing individual and business tax returns accurately and timely.
- Collect and organize client financial documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and receipts.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to gather necessary tax information and explain complex concepts in simple terms.
- Perform data entry and verification of financial records using our advanced tax software.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for client records.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on tax code changes.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior tax or accounting experience required. A strong desire to learn is the only requirement.
- Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn proprietary tax software.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail and accuracy; exceptional organizational skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Availability: Must be available to work during peak tax season (January - April) and flexible hours as needed.
