Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audit and review engagements.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to provide strategic tax planning recommendations to clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information and explain complex tax concepts in a clear manner.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business valuations.
- Stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulatory updates to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, Lacerte).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Relevant internship or work experience in public accounting is preferred.
