Responsibilities
- Prepare and file individual, corporate, and partnership federal and state tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct thorough tax research to ensure full compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Communicate professionally with clients to gather necessary documentation, answer inquiries, and explain complex tax issues.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Participate in the annual audit process and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Stay current on industry trends, tax code changes, and software updates.
- Collaborate with senior team members to develop and implement tax planning strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation or public accounting (CPA certification is a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software such as Drake, UltraTax, or QuickBooks.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.
