Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Conduct tax research and provide compliance guidance on complex tax matters
- Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize client financial outcomes
- Manage client relationships through regular communication and deliverables
- Collaborate with senior tax professionals on audits and IRS inquiries
- Maintain accurate documentation in tax preparation software (Lacerte/ProSeries)
- Stay current with tax law changes through continuous education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 1-3 years of tax preparation experience (public or corporate)
- CPA license or active pursuit preferred
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Valid North Carolina CPA license or eligibility
