Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate and individual clients
- Conduct tax research and maintain compliance with evolving tax regulations
- Analyze financial data to identify tax savings opportunities and optimization strategies
- Collaborate with senior staff on complex tax cases and audit support
- Utilize tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fx) for efficient return processing
- Develop client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to firm quality control standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license or active pursuit (required within 6 months)
- 2+ years of tax preparation experience in public accounting
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep understanding of IRS regulations and Alaska state tax codes
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
