Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with current tax regulations
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities
- Review financial statements and identify tax optimization opportunities
- Collaborate with senior staff on complex tax cases and audits
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in compliance with IRS standards
- Provide exceptional client communication and tax advisory services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of tax preparation experience required
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred
- Proficiency in tax software (Lacerte, ProSeries, or CCH Axcess)
- Strong knowledge of individual and corporate taxation
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Active Virginia CPA license or ability to obtain within 6 months
