Your Role
As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. You will act as the subject matter expert on payroll tax requirements and process corrections efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage Payroll Processing: Oversee the weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy in gross pay, deductions, and net pay calculations.
- Compliance & Tax Filing: Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including 941s and state quarterly reports, ensuring full compliance with FLSA regulations.
- Timekeeping Oversight: Review and approve timesheets and time-off requests, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing clear explanations regarding pay stubs, tax forms (W-2s), and compensation.
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of employee benefits, including 401(k) contributions and health insurance enrollments.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends, costs, and potential issues for the finance team.
- System Maintenance: Maintain payroll records and system data, ensuring information is current and secure.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing and administration.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, QuickBooks, or similar payroll software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of payroll tax laws, FLSA, and state-specific labor regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and manage complex data with high precision.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
- Integrity: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and financial data.
