As a Payroll Specialist, you will be the guardian of our employees' compensation, ensuring every paycheck is accurate and every compliance requirement is met.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing for over 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Process payroll via ADP Workforce Now, including timekeeping data, deductions, and tax filings.
- Conduct monthly payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, including state unemployment and W-2s.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate salary changes, promotions, and benefit deductions.
- Provide exceptional support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, deductions, and pay statements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume corporate environment.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong working knowledge of California labor laws, tax codes, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
