Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll for over 500 employees with 100% accuracy using ADP Workforce Now.
- Prepare and file all federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including 941, 940, and state quarterly reports.
- Manage employee payroll inquiries, leave of absence requests, and compensation changes.
- Conduct internal payroll audits to ensure strict compliance with FLSA and state labor laws.
- Maintain accurate records for garnishments, 401k deductions, and complex benefits administration.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and process necessary corrections.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, preferably in a mid-to-large size organization.
- Advanced proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Workday) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations, including California-specific laws.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive financial data with absolute confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
