Responsibilities
- Analyze Creditworthiness: Conduct thorough analysis of loan applications, financial statements, and credit reports to determine the risk profile of potential borrowers.
- Develop Credit Policies: Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor Accounts: Regularly review existing accounts for signs of financial distress and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risk.
- Prepare Reports: Generate detailed credit memos, risk assessments, and recommendations for lending committees to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with underwriting, sales, and portfolio management teams to provide insights and support business objectives.
- Stay Current: Keep abreast of industry trends, economic indicators, and changes in regulatory requirements that may impact lending decisions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or a related financial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and credit analysis software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of credit scoring models, financial ratios, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
