Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Risk Assessments: Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and collateral to determine borrower risk profiles and credit limits.
- Develop Credit Policies: Assist in the development and implementation of credit underwriting guidelines and risk management strategies.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Regularly review the performance of existing credit facilities and recommend adjustments to mitigate risk exposure.
- Prepare Detailed Credit Memos: Draft and present clear, concise, and data-driven credit recommendations to the credit committee.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with internal stakeholders and external clients to resolve credit issues and answer inquiries.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact credit decisions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros), and credit scoring software.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Regulatory: Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards (e.g., OCC, FDIC) is a plus.
