As a Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio by evaluating creditworthiness and mitigating risk.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and business plans to assess borrower risk.
- Develop and maintain credit scoring models and underwriting guidelines in alignment with company policies.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos, recommendations, and approval packages for loan committees.
- Monitor existing portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of financial distress.
- Collaborate with the loan origination team to streamline the approval process and ensure timely decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local banking regulations.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts on credit analysis techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling) and credit software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CAM) is a plus.
