Responsibilities
- Manage Day-to-Day Bookkeeping: Accurately process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure balances match financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Expense Management: Monitor and categorize business expenses, preparing reports for management review.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their financial inquiries and statements.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations to ensure full compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero is required; familiarity with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is essential.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism and ethical standards in handling sensitive financial data.
