Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15+ client accounts including AR/AP, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets) with variance analysis
- Oversee sales tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Implement and maintain QuickBooks Online systems with advanced customization
- Coordinate annual audits and provide supporting documentation
- Develop financial forecasting models and cash flow projections
- Mentor junior bookkeepers on accounting best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with multi-client portfolios
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (advanced functions)
- CPA certification or equivalent accounting degree preferred
- Proven track record in sales tax compliance across NM counties
- Experience with construction or service industry accounting a plus
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail (0.05% error tolerance)
- Ability to meet urgent deadlines while maintaining 100% accuracy
