Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and financial reports for management review.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjusting entries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, including tax filings.
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on schedule.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax preparers as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
