Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports for management review.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure data integrity.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage accounts payable, and follow up on accounts receivable to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Payroll Administration: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring all deductions and tax filings are handled correctly and on schedule.
- Compliance: Ensure the company complies with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax requirements.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Support month-end close processes and assist with budgeting and forecasting projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies and errors in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
