Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure bank statements match internal records and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Reporting: Prepare and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets for management review.
- Payroll: Assist in the processing of payroll for a diverse client base, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations to ensure all financial activities remain compliant with state and federal laws.
- Software Management: Manage and optimize our accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) to streamline workflows and improve data integrity.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial inquiries, providing clear and professional explanations of financial data.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Pro, Xero, or similar cloud-based accounting platforms. Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
