Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and variance reports for management review.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial transactions comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Software Proficiency: Manage and update accounting software, including QuickBooks Online and Xero, ensuring data integrity.
- Payroll: Assist with payroll processing and the preparation of payroll tax filings.
- Client Communication: Liaise with clients and vendors to resolve billing inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Possession of a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
