Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Maintain accurate financial records, including comprehensive accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and correctly.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure cash flow accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Preparation: Gather necessary documentation and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Software Management: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) to streamline financial processes and manage budgets effectively.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize financial workflows and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; High School diploma required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
- Integrity: High level of confidentiality and ethical standards regarding sensitive financial data.
